Gently resting on the banks of Hatherley Brook lies Amber Wood Care Home.  Set in 2 acres of sumptuous woodland, the purpose built 66 bed care home offers high quality residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.

The aim was to create something that is more than just a healthcare building – more welcoming, more comfortable, more thought provoking and more uplifting.  The sculptural form of the land surrounding Amber Wood provides a natural shield to residents garden spaces from the outside world.  A key element of the design is the flexibility of the external space which is intended to encourage the residents to feel at home, giving them access to the sunken courtyard garden, allotment garden and riverside garden.

The luxury care home comprises 66 en-suite bedrooms, alongside welfare areas and staff facilities.  Rooms are generally 20% larger than the minimum standards.
